A rock is a naturally occurring solid mixture of one or more minerals and organic matter. Rocks are always changing and are continually going through the rock cycle that makes old rocks into new ones.

A mineral is a naturally formed, inorganic solid that has a definite chemical structure. All minerals contain 1 or more natural occurring elements.

The difference is rocks are made of minerals, and minerals are NOT made of rocks

The difference between a rock and mineral is that rocks are made up of organic matter and minerals are made up of inorganic matter. Minerals have a crystalline structure but rocks don't have crystalline structure. minerals are classified into two groups and rocks are classified into three groups.

A mineral is a solid formation that occurs naturally in the earth while a rock is a solid combination of more than one mineral formations which is also occurring naturally. A mineral has a unique chemical composition and is necessarily defined by its crystalline structure and shape. On the other hand, since a rock can be composed of several minerals it is classified according to the process of its formation.

Rocks are made of minerals....minerals are made from natural inorganic compounds.

The difference between rocks and minerals is... First minerals are naturally formed. They are inorganic, solid, and have definite crystalline structures. Minerals contain one or more naturally occurin elements. Rocks on the other hand, are naturally occurring solid mixtures of one or more minerals and organic matter. And rocks are always changing through te rock cycle.

A mineral is a naturally formed, inorganic solid that has a definite chemical structure. There are two different types of minerals....... Silicate minerals and non silicate.

A rocks a naturally occurring solid mixture of one or more minerals and organic matter, and rocks always change. There are always new rocks being formed

a rock is one or more minerals formed through either crystalization or reheating with pressure applied. a mineral is a naturally-inorganic crystalline solid.

Kristina and Sheldon said...

Minerals occur naturally and are made up of the different elements. They also have a crystalline structure. Rocks are made of minerals and organic matter and are always changing.

Minerals do not have a cycle that never ends. There is only one type of mineral. A mineral is a naturally formed and organic and has definite crystalline structure. All minerals contain one or more naturally occuring element. Another name for minerals is a crystal.
A rock is a naturally occuring solid mixture of one or more minerals. Rocks are always changing. Rocks are an important naturally occuring resource. Rocks have a rock cycle. There are only 3 types of rocks.

Minerals usally have shape and rocks don't. Rocks don't have a define shape, also minerals have about the same color. Rocks the color is never the same. Minerals have cyrstyls and rocks no signal cyrstyls. Minerals have no fossolis. And rock have some fossolis.

Minerals are formed by crystalline structure. Compound and they can't be broken down.
Rocks are made if 2 or more minerals.havep of 3 different Types.

Minerals are naturaly occuring inorganic solids. Some of them are a single elmement or multipile elements. Rocks are made up of one or more minerals and have a never ending cycle.

Brennen and Cole said...

Rocks are minerals put together and minerals are just individual pieces of a rock. Like if you crushed a rock into tiny pieces you would have minerals. By Brennen Schmitt And Cole Brown.

Minerals are naturally formed and rocks are a natural mixture. Also minerals are made of nonorganic material and rocks are made of organic material.

A mineral is a naturally formed inorganic solid with a definite crystal structure. Minerals have to be found in nature and can not be man made.

A rock is a mix of organic matter and one or more minerals.

There are two different types of minerals: the silicates and the nonsilicates. The silicates are made of a mix of silicon and oxygen, as well as other elements. The nonsilicates do not have a mix of silicon and oxygen.

A rock is a mixture of many minerals. Minerals are a naturally Inorganic that has a definite crystalline structure. It is not made of living things. They also have the same structure throughout. The crystalline materials are man made. There are two groups of minerals. First, the silicate. They are made of silicon, oxygen and other elements. I makes up most of earths crust, like quartz. The other group is the non-silicate. These don't contain a combination of silicon and oxygen. There are 7 classes of the non-silicate minerals, native elements, carbonates, Halides, Oxides, sulfates and the sulfides.
